  • Catch Matson live at the Edinburgh Fringe Aug 01 – 25

Justin Matson has been kicked off three rollercoasters for being too fat, and he’s finally ready to talk about it!

Adorably awkward with a twist of gay, Matson is a critically-acclaimed Los Angeles based comedian delivering a hilarious hour-long indie stand-up album and special exploring his lifelong struggle with body image. He recently toured the show at the largest arts event in the world, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as well as to sold-out crowds in Adelaide, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and finally in Los Angeles for the taping. Fatter Than You Think is real, raw, and gayer than a small side-salad.

“Matson has a beautiful self-deprecating sense of humor about it all that seems to make it all light, bright and very funny” – Glam Adelaide

Originally from San Diego, Matson is a graduate of the Upright Citizen Brigade’s sketch and improv program, has written/performed with house sketch teams at The Pack Theatre, and was featured on FUSION TV (Morning Show) and ADELAIDE CHANNEL 44 (Fringe on 44).

Matson is a co-creator of the daily Instagram series @EasierMovies, was a sketch writer for WeMash and AllCal, and wrote/starred in a choose-your-adventure interactive comedy horror spoof, Scary Death House, which was a finalist in the LA Scripted Comedy Festival. He co-hosts a monthly show, Fartificial Intelligence, and hosts a weekly mic, Waka Waka Workout.

Highly Recommended Jo Tomalin “calm, vital, endearing”

★★★★½ Glam Adelaide “a mild-mannered comic who can still deliver big laughs”

★★★★ Broadway Baby  “His likeable persona makes it even funnier”

★★★½ The Serenade Files “He hit my funny bone”
